Jean Miner (Miner) Fox

Jean Miner Fox, age 89, of Springville, Utah passed away peacefully on February 16, 2016. She was born on December 2, 1926 to Alma and Cleonda Miner.  After graduating high school, she married Merlin John Fox on December 18, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple.

She worked many years as a medical assistant for Dr. Clair Judd.  In 1966 she began working at Springville High School as an attendance secretary and continued to work there until she retired.  She was an avid seamstress making all of her daughters' clothing and shared her talents with many others.  She loved to cook and was famous for her frozen lime pies.  She enjoyed making porcelain dolls and working with ceramics. She and Merlin were members of a dinner group that met monthly since high school. She made friends easily and treasured them all.

Jean was a loving mother to her four children and a devoted wife to Merlin. She instilled in her children the love of the Savior through her service to others. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She served in many callings in the church which brought great joy to herself and others.

Jean is survived by three of her four children:  Camille (Steve) Laker, Ogden; Cyndi (Michael) Green, Sandy; and Thomas (Jane), Pleasant Grove; R. Kent Miner brother and Joan Fox sister.  She adored her 16 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Merlin, her son Bruce and her granddaughter Rachel.

The family would like to express their utmost gratitude to the wonderful caregivers at Highland Glen Memory Care Facility and First Choice Hospice.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the LDS Chapel located at 878 West Center Street Springville, Utah. Friends may call Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 at the church. Interment will be in the Historic Springville City Cemetery.
