JD Dalton

JD Dalton, age 77, of Springville, Utah, died Aug. 25, 2009 of natural causes.



He was born on Dec. 22, 1931, to Arvin and Beulah Dalton in Oklahoma. He lived in Colorado until 1948 and then they moved to Springville where he lived the rest of his life.



He married his one and only sweetheart Connie Medved on Oct. 13, 1951. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.



He worked at Geneva Steel for eight years and for the Springville City Police Department for 29 and a half years before he retired. After retiring from the Springville department, he worked for the Mapleton Police Department as chief of police for three years.



His main love was for his wife and family. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.



He was preceded in death by both parents; two granddaughters; one sister, Mary Campbell; one son, Dennis Dalton; and a son in law, Sherald Thomas.



He is survived by his wife Connie M. Dalton; four daughters: Pamela (Sherald) Thomas of Nephi, Linda (Klair) Durrant of Spanish Fork, Mary Jo (Charles) Hargis of Orem and Julie Alley of Orem; one son, Bob (Danalyn) Dalton of St. George; sisters and brothers: Malacha (Al, deceased) Knoll of Colorado; Marvin (Debbie) Dalton of California; Cyntha (Terry) Hallock of California; and Blaine (Jolene) Dalton of Springville.



A viewing will be held Thursday, Aug. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 South Springville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 28, at the church located at 55 N. Main in Springville, with a viewing at the church just prior to the services from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Springville Cemetery.
