Javier D. Hernandez was born June 2, 1976 in Denver, Colorado to Roberto Hernandez and Maria Sandoval.
After moving from New Mexico to Las Vegas, Nevada as a teenager, Javier spent most of his life there working in construction.
In his free time Javier spent time with his children and family who remember him as a fun, easy-going, and very caring person. He loved listening to music, watching movies and football and drawing. He loved telling stories from when he was younger and could remember even the smallest details no matter how old the story was.
Javier was diagnosed with cancer shortly after moving to Utah where he was supported by his family in his tough 4-year fight.
Finally, on August 28, 2020 Javier passed away peacefully surrounded with love and free of pain.
He really appreciated the level of care and concern that he received over this long fight. A very special thanks to Utah Cancer Specialists at Utah Valley Hospital, Dr. Rich Colette, Rikelle, Dr. Garner, Stephanie, Rona, Dr. Clark, and James all took extra care and interest in his wellbeing.
Dr. Sborov, Grace, and Matt at Huntsman Cancer Institute were special angels that allowed our family a small amount of extra time that gave us some of the best memories we have.
Javier is survived by his five children: Niko, Antonio, Alex, Sheridan, and Quincie; also, his fiancé Aimee; nieces and nephew Michael and Aliya (Dylan) and countless loving cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville.
