Staff Sergeant Jared Wayne Simonsen - devoted husband, father and son, left this earth suddenly on February 1, 2021, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Jared was born on August 19, 1992, in Provo, Utah to Nancy and Darrell Simonsen. He is the youngest of four brothers. He married Alexandria (Lexi) Grace Parry, on March 29, 2014, in Tacoma, Washington.
After graduating from Springville High School, he enlisted in the Army. While stationed at Joint Base Lewis McChord, he met his sweet wife Lexi who was also serving in the Army. They have three beautiful children who adore him and he loved coming home to them. Jared had a great love of the outdoors. He hiked to many spectacular places, but Angel’s Landing in Zion National Park was his favorite and a place of solace for him. He had a wonderful artistic talent that he shared with all those who surrounded him. He was a hard worker and had a love for the soldiers that he served with.
He is survived by his wife, Alexandria; his children Jake, Hailey and Sasha (Mishka). His parents, Darrell and Nancy Simonsen. His brothers and their spouses, Marc (Heidi); Geoffrey (Jessie); and Kyle (Lauren). He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents.
A celebration of Jared’s life will be held on February 13, 2021 at 11:00 am, at the Hobble Creek 1st Ward Chapel, 555 S Averett Ave, Springville, Utah. A closed-casket gathering will precede the memorial starting at 10:00 AM. The interment will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Springville, Utah with full military honors, following the services.
