James Willard Call, age 81, of Mapleton, Utah, passed away Wednesday, the fifth of September 2012. He was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on 15 December 1930, to Ira Barlow Call and Chlo Buterbaugh Call. He married Beverly Joan Duggan on 8 September 1949 in Oakland, California and was sealed to her in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints four days later.
Jim was an electronic technician and a fabrication manager in California. Throughout the 1960s, he was stage manager for the Woodminster Amphitheater in Oakland, California, and Stern Grove in San Francisco. Jim was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout his life, serving in many callings. He attended Girls Camp annually to take and compile photos and videos into keepsake DVDs for the young women. He was also an avid gardener. He loved eating and sharing his fresh fruits and vegetables; apricots were his favorite. He especially loved bringing cut flowers to his sweetheart.
Jim has one brother (Ira "Bud") and two sisters (Rosalind Lynch and Betty Bloomfield). Jim and Bev have eight children: Jaime (Allan) Morton, John (Tereza), Judith (Eric) Fazio, Joseph (Deanna), Jennifer (Mark) Winsborrow, Jill (David) Downing, Joshua (Diane), and Jeremy (Amy). They have 31 grandchildren and are expecting their 31st great-grandchild.
