1941~2013
Our loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, James (Jim) D. Wiley, passed away peacefully at home on December 12, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.
Jim was born on October 1, 1941 in Lynndyl, Utah to Rudgar O. and Sarah Ann Wiley. The family moved to Springville in 1949. He graduated from SHS in 1959.
He married his sweetheart, Betty J. Garrett on March 2, 1962. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Provo Utah Temple on November 4, 1980.
Jim worked for Springville City Police Dept. for many years. He also was a volunteer fire fighter and EMT. He loved working with the kids of Springville and Mapleton, spending many nights teaching Hunter Safety and being the equipment manager (and cook) for the SHS Band. Later he worked as campus supervisor for Springville High and bus driver for Nebo School District.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; daughters: Kristine (Jeff) Mitchell and Amy (Michael) Graves; grandchildren: Lacy (Kacey) Koyle, Dallin Mitchell, Clay Mitchell, Marissa and Jordyn Graves; great-grandchildren: Ryker and Brylie Kolye and brother, Robert (Kaye) Wiley. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S, Springville, UT. Viewings will be held on Sunday, December 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 1 hour prior to the services, both at the Mortuary. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
