James T. Hardesty, died of complications of kidney disease and bladder cancer.
Jim is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mickey and his children: Robbi (Steve) Begley, Terri (Mo Ong) Hardesty, Lisa (Barry Durand) Fay, and Jonathan Fay; and Jim’s sister, Tanya Roberts; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his son Robert, daughter Suzanne, and his grandson Patrick.
Jim was a talented musician and worked for many years as a drummer. He was a lifetime member of the International Musicians Union. He was proud to have served his country during and after World War II. He was also a lifetime member of the American Legion.
Jim was a recovered alcoholic and for over 50 years served as a sponsor and mentor to many men and women in recovery.
He was an active member of the Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus (4th Degree). The Knights of Columbus will be providing an honor guard for his funeral, which will be held Thursday, November 3rd at 12 Noon at St. Peters Catholic Church, 634 Caveman Blvd., American Fork, UT. There will be no viewing or graveside service. An informal memorial gathering will be held Friday, November 4th from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S., in Springville. Friends will be invited to share their experiences with Jim at that time.
