James Albert Fry, 81, passed away at home in Orange, California on Tuesday, December 4, 2012. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Geraldine; his sons Brad and Chris; his daughters Shauna Gibbons and Bonnie Watson; his 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; his sister LaRae Hayward of Orem, Utah; and a good many nieces and nephews.
Born to Charles Lerwill Fry and Elizabeth Westoby Fry in Springville, Utah, James later served in the National Guard and shortly thereafter married Geraldine "Jerri" Sorenson. He spent several years working for Thorn Construction, where he and his co-workers had a hand in building some of the interstate highway system in the state of Utah. After moving their family to Southern California in 1956, James and Jerri chose Orange County to settle in. James managed the Cambridge plant for Welch's Concrete for nearly a decade before embarking on a career in real estate in 1971. James - known as "Jim" by his many associates and friends - worked for a little over 40 years as a broker, before retiring in 2002.
James will be remembered as an honest and caring man, a man of integrity who's word was his bond and who took an active interest in the welfare of others. He will be dearly missed by his friends and his family rejoices in the knowledge that we will all be reunited one day.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 8th at 11AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints, located at 674 S. Yorba St., Orange California. A graveside service will then take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Springville Utah at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday December 11th
