James LaVar Cloward passed away July 9, 2010, at the age of 60. He had been in the Springville Art City Care Center for 5 years after suffering several strokes. We rejoice that he is home with his loving Heavenly Father free of pain and suffering. Our thanks and appreciation goes out to all his caregivers.
James was born in Provo, Utah on August 9, 1949, to H. LaVar Cloward and Donna Deane Duke. He served an LDS mission to the Eastern States Mission which brought him great joy. He married Virginia MacMeekin in the Manti Temple November 19, 1971. He was a brilliant man who loved genealogy, fishing, and Scrabble.
He is survived by his wife, three daughters - Sara Lynn, Jane Marie, Debra Kay, and four grandchildren. He is also survived by his father, and siblings: Mary Deane Baggaley, David Cloward, Julie DeMaranville, John Byron Cloward, Paul Cloward and Kristen Averett. He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Steven Ray Cloward.
A viewing will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 12, 2010 at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S., Springville. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. Anyone desiring to pay respects are invited to join the family at that time.
