James Willard Call, age 81, of Mapleton, Utah, passed away Wednesday, the fifth of September 2012. He was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on 15 December 1930, to Ira Barlow Call and Chlo Buterbaugh Call. He married Beverly Joan Duggan on 8 September 1949 in Oakland, California and was sealed to her in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints four days later.

Jim was an electronic technician and a fabrication manager in California. Throughout the 1960s, he was stage manager for the Woodminster Amphitheater in Oakland, California, and Stern Grove in San Francisco. This led to his volunteer work as technical director and stage manager for the Oakland Temple Pageant, "And It Came to Pass," from its inception in 1964 through 1984. Jim was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout his life, serving in many callings. He attended Girls Camp annually to take and compile photos and videos into keepsake DVDs for the young women. He was also an avid gardener. He loved eating and sharing his fresh fruits and vegetables; apricots were his favorite. He especially loved bringing cut flowers to his sweetheart.

Jim has one brother (Ira "Bud") and two sisters (Rosalind Lynch and Betty Bloomfield). Jim and Bev have eight children: Jaime (Allan) Morton, John (Tereza), Judith (Eric) Fazio, Joseph (Deanna), Jennifer (Mark) Winsborrow, Jill (David) Downing, Joshua (Diane), and Jeremy (Amy). They have 31 grandchildren and are expecting their 31st great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Monday, 10 September 2012, at 11:00am in the Mapleton 12th Ward Chapel located at 475 North 1600 West, Mapleton, Utah. Friends and family may call Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville, or Monday at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
