Jack Brandon Tranchell

July 25, 1932 — April 28, 2015

Jack Brandon Tranchell was born July 25, 1932, to Claus Earl Tranchell and Lillie Riding Beacham Tranchell in Springville, UT. He passed peacefully in his home, April 28, 2015, with his daughter, Judy and wife, LaRae at his side.
Jack was named Claus Brandon Tranchell at birth, but was called Jackie, by his Dad, and later had his name legally changed to Jack Brandon. Jack was afflicted with polio as a child, and was left with a gnarled foot but never complained and wasn't slowed down a bit by it.
He was married to LaRae Hardman on Aug 15, 1952. They raised their family of 3 children in Springville. Jack was a self-made man. He lived hard, worked hard and played hard.
His career spanned truck routes for Coca Cola, Family Bread, Big 4, and road construction work for WW Clyde Construction.
He lived life to the fullest; on horseback and 4 wheeler, over mountains and valleys. His favorite place was Collard's ground at Swen's Canyon, at the top of Fairview. He loved hunting, camping, fishing, riding, and family time together. He had great friends and created lifelong friendships with men as rugged and strong as he was. Jack was active in the Hobble Creek Riding Club, serving as Drill Director for several years. He enjoyed the ride. He was an avid swimmer, swimming every day for 25 years until crippled by Alzheimer's.
Grandpa Jack's grandkids will all remember him for his jokes and his song ditties: "Old Shep"; "Two little dickey birds, sittin' on a hill...."; "Chocolate ice cream cone..."; "Yellow Bird"; "If you're ever down by the lake, you know what to do !"; "We'll see more of you, if you bend over".
Jack is survived by his wife of 62½ years, LaRae; daughter, Judy Gavin, of Springville; sons, Dave (Pat) of Springville; Tony (Sue) of Payson; 10 grandchildren: Shanna (Michael) Pool, Casey (Ashley) Hone; Justin (Jan) Tranchell, Nathan (Tiffany) Tranchell, Breanne (Clint) Noyes, Davian (Jared) Johnson; Brandon (Margurite) Tranchell, Sheri (Jon) Peterson; Anthony Griego, Amanda (Brandon) Kwiatkowski; and 29 great grandchildren; also survived by sisters: Mary Ann (Jerry) of Nephi and Shirlene (Ted) of Alamo, CA. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers, Walter Louis, Ronnie, and sister, Ethel.
The family extends their gratitude for the friends, neighbors, and caregivers who have so graciously helped in the past months.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 1pm, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 355 E Center, Springville, Utah, with viewings Friday night 6-8pm, at Wheeler Mortuary, 200 S 200 E, Springville, UT and Saturday, at the church, before the services 11:45 am - 12:45 pm.
