Jack Eldon Howell

Jack Eldon Howell, age 91, of Springville Utah passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 22, 2024. He was born in Nephi, Utah, to Voil LaMar Howell and Florence May Gadd Howell. Jack married LuDene Kay in 1953, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Utah Temple. They are parents of five daughters: Janet (John Schriever), Julie (Stan Weight), LeeAnn Ostler, Susan, and Lori (Jerry Ewell), 20 grandchildren, and 74 great grandchildren. After LuDene passed away in 2009, he later married Diane Carlisle and they enjoyed nearly 13 years together before his passing. Through this marriage he added four step-children, Jeralyn Shaw, Thayne Carlisle, Chris Carlisle, and Candace Wilson.

Jack served in the U.S. Army as a forward observer in the Korean War. He was a plumber-pipe fitter and supervised the work on many commercial buildings in the area throughout his career. He enjoyed woodworking, playing golf, traveling, and seeing the country. Jack was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. An example of his service was caring for his first wife LuDene during her long illness before her death. Jack is known for his wonderful sense of humor, work ethic, and ability to fix anything and everything. He was loved by his family, friends, and neighbors, and will be greatly missed.

Jack is survived by his wife Diane, a sister Diane (Scott Adams), and three daughters. He was preceded in death by his wife LuDene, two daughters (Janet Schriever, Susan Howell), and two brothers (Evan LaMar Howell, Robert Howell). A viewing will take place Thursday, September 26, 2024, 6:00 - 8:00 pm, at the Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S, Springville, UT.

 Funeral services will be held Friday, September 27, 2024, at 11:00 am, with a viewing 9:00 - 10:30 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 555 Averett Avenue, Springville, Utah. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
