Itha May Blatter Johnson, 85 of Nyssa, Oregon, passed away at her home in Nyssa Gardens assisted living on September 5, 2013. She was born October 25th, 1927 in Ammon, Idaho to Gottleib Blatter and Dora May Hiatt Blatter.

She grew up in Chinook, Montana and graduated from high school there.

On June 13, 1945, she married Roger Anthony Johnson in the Cardston Alberta Canada LDS Temple. They moved to Harlem, Montana were she and Roger raised their five children. She was a active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and served in many positions in the church. She and Roger served two missions after raising their children, one to Toronto, Canada and the other to Chicago, Ill. In 1986, they moved to Springville, Utah where she lived until 2004. After Roger's death Dec. 5, 1990, Itha lived by herself in Springville. She served in the church there and also volunteered as a Foster Grandmother for the kindergarten at Grant Elementary in Springville for several years. She loved the little children and they loved her.

She moved to Parma, Idaho in 2004 so she could be closer to family. In May of 2013, she moved into the Nyssa Gardens assisted living. Itha leaves a legacy of faith, love, devotion to gospel living and service to others.

She is survived by five children: Karen (William) Glen, Brisbane, Australia; Kent B. (Shari) Johnson Parma, Idaho; Gregory B. (Heidi) Johnson, Meridian, Idaho; Karla (Terry) Hansen, Moses Lake, Washington; Kyle Johnson, Morgan Hill, California. She is also survived by two brothers and six sisters: Layne Blatter, Payson, Utah; Sam Blatter, Anaheim Hills, California; Velta Cleverly, Twin Falls, Idaho; Fontella Maddox, Chinook, Montana; Rayola Haywood, Orting, Washington, Shirley Seegmiller, St George, Utah; Gailya Grant, Port Hill, Idaho; Clotheal Foote, Tumwater, Washington. She has 23 granchildren and 52 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gottleib and Dora May Blatter, her husband, Roger Johnson, 10 siblings and one grandson, Koy Johnson.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, Sept. 14th at 10am in the Evergreen Cemetery in Springville, Utah under the direction of Wheeler Mortuary. Condolences may be shared with Itha's family at www.wheelermortuaries.com
