Isabell Martin Sorensen

Isabell Martin Sorensen (83) passed away peacefully, May 26, 2008 in Salt Lake City, Utah, with her daughters at her side.



Isabell (Bell) was born July 6, 1924 to Alfred and Minnie Martin in Salina, Utah. She graduated from North Sevier High School where she enjoyed being the newspaper editor, a twirler in the band, and an accomplished pianist for most events.



She married her high school sweetheart Van Sorensen, on May 4, 1943 in the Manti LDS Temple. Van was a cattleman and farmer and Bell worked at his side for 64 years as they lived and farmed in Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho.



Bell was an active lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and served in many callings including organist for over 50 years. Later in life, Bell and Van were able to fulfill their dream of missionary service at Adam Ondi Ahman, MO and Nauvoo, IL.



Bell is survived by one son and two daughters, Steven (Jan) Sorensen, Vancouver, WA, Vanna (Tom) Price, West Jordan, UT, and Becky (Dave) Nelsen, Salt Lake City, UT, 17 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren, two sisters, Emma Adams and Nona Vee Payne.



Funeral services will be held Sat., May 31, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in the LDS Mapleton 11th Ward Chapel, 1600 N. Main, Mapleton, UT. A viewing will be held Fri. May 30, 2008, from 6 8 p.m. at the Wheeler Mortuary, 82 W. 400 N., Mapleton, UT and Sat. at the church, 9:00 10:00 a.m. Interment, Aurora City Cemetery.
