Ireata Swasey Hansen, age 86, of Springville, Utah, passed away January 23, 2023, at her home in Springville, Utah. She was born in Mona, Utah, on August 4, 1936, to Floyd Elray Swasey and Mercia LaVon Rowe Swasey. Ireata married the love of her life, Delynn Hansen, August 1, 1954. Ireata was preceded in death by Delyn Hansen on December 2, 2017, and also a granddaughter and great-grandson.
Ireata loved to knit and quilt as two of her most favorite hobbies. She was a good cook and always felt she needed to feed everyone when they visited her home. She loved to camp, fish, and travel.
She was an excellent mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great- great grandmother. She loved her family dearly. Ireata was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in the Relief Society in various positions secretary, visiting teaching coordinator, funeral coordinator, and visiting teaching. Ireata worked as a waitress, lunch lady at the Junior High School, and then for Signetics Corporation from the time they opened in Provo, Utah until they closed.
Ireata is survived by four children: Rick (Son), Cheryl Raulston (Daughter), Barry Hansen (Son), Sandra(Daughter-in-law), and Lynnette Dansie (Daughter), Keith (Son-in-law). She has 16 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delynn Hansen, two brothers Floren Swasey and Floyd Elray Swasey, and two sisters Sheila Hansen and Joyce Pay.
Funeral services will be held at Hobble Creek Stake Center 555 South 600 East (Averett Avenue), Springville, Ut on January 31, 2023. A viewing for friends and family will be held Monday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Wheeler Mortuary located at 211 East 200 South in Springville, Ut and just prior to the service on Tuesday January 31, 2023, at the Hobble Creek Stake Center. Burial will be at the Mona City Cemetery in Mona, Utah.
