Ida May Thompson Duffin, 91, passed away peacefully December 2, 2009 in Mapleton, Utah. She was born in Ashland, Kentucky, July 28, 1918, to Benjamin Franklin Kasee and Augie Thompson. She moved to Provo when she was 5 years old. She had four brothers and one sister. Her whole family was baptized into the LDS Church shortly after arriving in Provo. Ida attended Franklin Elementary School then attended BY High.
She married Rodney Keith Duffin in 1937. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1961. They continued to serve as faithful members for the rest of their lives.
Ida was preceded in death by her husband Keith in 1987 in St. George where they had moved after retirement. Ida returned to Utah County to be close to family.
She is survived by her children Ronald (Janeal) Duffin, Mapleton; Susan (Dennis) Stevenson, Elcajon, California; Richard (Christine) Duffin, Lehi.
Ida and Keith were blessed with I I grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. They were especially proud of each of their grandchildren and always made time for each of them. Ida loved children, and the neighborhood children would often come to her door for attention from their friend.
The family would like to thank Orem Rehab, East Meadows Care Center, and Alpha Home Health and Hospice for all their love and care.
Graveside service and interment will be held in the St. George Cemetery on Monday, December 7, at noon.
