Hazel Stella Kappas, 84, passed away peacefully and was reunited with her parents and family members on June 27, 2016 from causes incident to age. Stella was born November 15, 1931 in Mapleton to Steve and Hazel Kappas.
She attended schools in Mapleton and Springville and graduated from Springville High School in 1950.
She worked as a seamstress for many years.
Stella never married but worked tirelessly to take care of her parents and raise her sister’s children.
Stella was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved to crochet and made many baby blankets for her ward. One of her proudest accomplishments was to be asked to crochet the alter cloth for the Draper Temple. It is so beautiful and she was so proud.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by one brother, Steve (Julie) Kappas, Springville; one sister, Sharon (Larry) Russell, Carson, California; and many nieces and nephews, including David (Sarah) Rogers, Springville and Barbara Gant, San Bernardino, California.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S., Springville, Utah with a viewing held one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
