Howard Tommy ("Tom") Young, of Payson, Utah, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2010, after a short fight with pneumonia.

Tom was born in Provo, Utah on August 22, 1952, to Stanley and Anita Peay Young. A United States Veteran of the Vietnam War, Tom was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. A soft-spoken man with a heart of gold, Tom was willing to help anyone who needed him. He was particularly close to his father Stanley and step-mother, Myrna, whom he dedicated much time to. He also had many long-time friends and confidants to whom he was close. Their care and help has been, and is, very much appreciated by Tom's family.

Tom is survived by his children: Nina, Michael, Steven, Michelle, Brandi, Anita & Tommy; his older sister Sherry Young, and younger siblings Linda Smith (Harold), Robert Young (Debbie), and Loren Young (Kristine); his father Stanley Young and stepmother Myrna Anderson Young.

Tom is preceded in death by his Mother, Anita Peay Young, and Grandparents Howard and Thelda Young and Florence and Elwin Peay.

A memorial luncheon in honor of Tom's life and passing will be held at 454 North 100 West, Spanish Fork, Utah on Sunday, October 10 at 1:00 PM. A Military Funeral Honors Ceremony will be held at a later date at the Bluffdale Veteran's Memorial Cemetery where Tom's memorial stone will be placed. His ashes will be scattered in the tops of the Utah mountains he so loved.
