Hazel Joy Olson Hulse, age 82, passed away Friday, January 9, 2015, in the early hours of the morning. She was born April 24, 1932 on her parents' farm, near Heyburn, Idaho, to Leo Peter Olson and Vera Card Olson. She married Clarence Ray Hulse on December 21, 1951 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He preceded her in death, December 1, 1988.
Her life was devoted to her husband and her five children and later to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. At the age of 55, she became a registered nurse and served the residents of Clark County Nevada as a home health and hospice nurse. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served faithfully in many church callings.
Hazel is survived by her five children: Rodney C. Hulse of Springville, UT, Gary R. Hulse of Shady Pines, N.C., Brenda S. Burr of Springville, UT, Shauna L. Mayne of SLC, UT and Stanley O. Hulse, of Natalia, TX; 19 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren; siblings, Virgil Olson, Kennewick, WA, Nita Wells and Darlene Whitesides of Burley, ID. She was preceded in death by her eternal companion Clarence Ray Hulse; siblings: Fern Rutledge, LaVere Maxfield, Shirley Olson and Arland Olson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 10 a.m. in the Kolob 12 th Ward Chapel, 1627 Cadbury Lane, Springville, UT. Viewings will be held on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S, Springville and Saturday one hour prior to the services at the church. Hazel will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at the Wellsville Utah Cemetery.
