Gregory Clark Johnson

Gregory Clark Johnson of Springville, UT passed away on June 2nd, 2023, from heart-related issues. Clark was born on October 13th, 1947, in Burbank, CA. Clark would graduate from Homestead High School in 1965. Clark would then attend BYU-Hawaii where he fell in love with the island and the Polynesian people and would return several times throughout his life. After attending BYU-Hawaii for a year he would later attend BYU in Provo, UT where he would meet the love of his life Jean Christine Donga. They were married in Salt Lake City, UT on August 29th, 1972, and Sealed in the Los Angeles Temple in 1974.

Clark and Jean settled in Springville, UT where they raised their 5 children: Derik, Matthew, Deven, Kyrsten (Talley), and Seth. Clark served in various positions in the Church including in the Young Men, Bishopric, and Sunday School callings. Clark’s favorite calling was teaching in Sunday School and Elder’s Quorum.

Clark was well known for his business intellect and spent the majority of his career in international sales. He was also known for always having some joke or a funny story to tell to anyone that would listen.

Clark is preceded in death by his son Christopher Geert Johnson, his parents Leland “Whitey” and June Johnson, and his brother Gary Johnson.

A viewing for family and friends will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023, from 6-8 pm at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville. Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 11:00 am at the LDS Chapel located at 860 East 200 North Springville, with a viewing held that morning at the church from 9:30-10:30 am prior to the services.
