Emblem

Gregory Bartschi Brandt was born June 6, 1969 and passed away suddenly of natural causes on January 2, 2023. We may not understand now why he was taken home so young and in the prime of his life, but we trust in the Lord that Greg’s work here in mortality is finished and that it was his time to go.

Greg was a devoted and loving father, loyal husband and son, a dear friend to many, an esteemed person in the workplace, church congregation, and everywhere else he went. He was calm and very thoughtful; strong-willed and a natural problem-solver. He is one of the most brilliant people we'll ever know, and helpful to others when dealing with life’s challenges.

He was loved and adored by his wife. Every day he found countless ways to serve her and taught her so much about how to be Christ-like. He said “I love you” every day and their eternal relationship will continue each day until they are together once again.

He taught his children what it means to work hard and find solutions when the answers aren't obvious. He was extremely supportive and proud of his children and set a standard of what it means to preside and provide for a family.

He was a genius at many things. He put in countless hours doing genealogy work and searching for those who have passed on. We’re sure many of those individuals met him and are by his side in heaven. He was faithful in visiting the temple weekly with his wife, Janine. He knew much about the gospel and had a valiant testimony of the truths it holds. He was not one to shy away from constantly helping others and endeavored to understand and serve people in their own unique needs.

In his time to relax you'd find him doing one of his favorite activities: playing games with loved ones, taking naps (peacefully adding his snoring to a movie's soundtrack), or out serving others, doing any sort of task, which in all honesty, defines his life and person in ways words just can't describe. He was a model of assisting even in his last and final time here on this earth! He worked to follow the Savior's perfect example in ministering to the needs of others.

Greg is survived by his wife, Janine Allen Brandt. His children, Matthew C. Brandt (Alyssa) and new grandson, Milo; Phoebe V. Richards, Spencer D. Brandt, Madilyn J. (Madi) Brandt. Also, his parents, Edward J. and Carol Brandt. Siblings, David E. Brandt, G. Erik Brandt (Shari), Linda Barney (Todd), Michael J. Brandt (Melanie), Daniel L. Brandt (Helen), Jeffrey J. Brandt, Timothy J. Brandt (Brittany) and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Canyon Hills 2nd Ward, 750 West 4050 North, Lehi, UT. 84043, followed by the funeral from 11:00-12:00. Burial will be at about 2:00 p.m. at the Mapleton City Cemetery, 620 West Maple Street, Mapleton, Utah. 84664.
