Glen Heber Smith passed away on Monday, May 6th, 2024. He was born on May 26th, 1978, in Danbury Connecticut, to Arthur and Floralba Smith.
He spent most of his growing up years in Hollister, California, and then in Provo, Utah. He graduated from Provo High School in 1996. From 1997 to 1999 he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Chile Santiago South Mission. This was a time of great spiritual strength in his life and deepened his character. Thereafter he attended Utah State University where he earned his Bachelor’s degree. During this time he had a lot of fun playing on the men’s Club Volleyball team and developed lasting relationships with friends. Years later he worked really hard to get his MBA from University of Phoenix, which was a great moment in his life.
Glen loved to play sports including, but not limited to football, baseball, and volleyball. For the last 15 years he consistently played softball with the same old crew. He also loved music of many genres. He played the saxophone and found solace playing the guitar. Glen enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. Some of his favorite places to fish included Kilgore, ID, Henry's Lake, and Strawberry Reservoir.
Glen is survived by his amazing son Cooper Glen Smith who was his greatest highlight and inspiration in his life. Glen was his greatest fan. For the last three and a half years Glen found love, companionship, and greater purpose with his girlfriend Margarita Donithorne “Maggie”, to which he was very grateful. Maggie stood by him through it all until the end. “Thank you Maggie!”
He is also survived by his siblings Mary Louise Smith, Catherine Hayes, Debora Miles, Roy Smith, Patricia Rivera, Marilé Borget, Joseph Smith, Laura Faumui, and Paul Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Floralba Smith, sister Sandy Smith and his niece Bella Florabla Smith.
