Geraldine Johnson Perkins

August 12, 1925 — March 11, 2011

Geraldine Johnson Perkins, age 85, of Springville, passed away March 11, 2011. Geri was born August 12, 1925 in Spring Canyon, Utah to Joseph and Naomi Johnson. She married Howard Max Perkins January 11, 1946. He preceded her in death April 22, 1974. They were later sealed in the Provo LDS Temple on January 10, 1976.

Geri loved the small mining town she grew up in, and shared many stories of her childhood. After her marriage, she had the opportunity to live in many different places with her husband as they made a life together in the military. During those 25 years, they made many life-long friends and she cherished those memories. Geri managed Beehive Clothing in Provo for many years and was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in several callings including many years in the Relief Society. She was very proud of her family and was a loving and thoughtful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. One of her favorite things in life was to go dancing; it is a great happiness to her family to know that she is once again dancing with her sweetheart.

Geri is survived by her five children: Sharon (Charles) Carpenter; Ed (Diana) Perkins; Max (Nancy) Perkins; Jenice (Michael) Schulzke; Angela Perkins; 25 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; one brother, Edwin (Marilyn) Johnson and sister-in-law, Betty Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, 3 grandsons, her brother Harold Johnson, and two infant brothers.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Spring Creek 3rd Ward Chapel located at 55 North Main in Springville. Friends and family may call Monday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville or Tuesday at the church one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
