Geraldine (Murray) Coburn

Geraldine Murray Coburn passed away in Highland, UT on April 19, 2015, surrounded by her family. She was born to John Ellis Murray and Cecil Thayne on December 9, 1930, in Washington, UT. She moved to Springville, UT in 1940, where she resided until 2013, when she moved to Highland, UT to live with her son. Geraldine served a mission in the Hawaiian Islands for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a faithful and active member her entire life.
Geraldine graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree of Bachelor of Science. She taught elementary school for many years. She met her husband, Leland Bradley Coburn, while she was working as a school teacher at a U.S. Air Force base in Morocco. They were married in August 1961. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. They made their home in Springville, UT, where they raised five children.
Geraldine will be remembered for her love of traveling and family. She visited 49 US states and traveled throughout Europe and Africa. She loved all of her children and greatly enjoyed holding her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband Leland and by her parents and brothers: Wayne, Thayne (Mary), John (Elaine) and Michael. She is survived by her children, Angela (David) Hansen, Bradley (Patricia) Coburn, Sherrie Richardson (Mike Davidson), Julie Coburn and Jeffrey (Debra) Coburn, 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on April 27, at 11 AM in the LDS Spring Creek Ward, 860 East 200 North, Springville, UT. Family and Friends may visit at 10:00 AM Monday or Sunday evening from 6-8 PM at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S, Springville, UT. Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery.
