George Norton Duncan Sr., 68 years young, lived most of his life in Utah County, passed away in the early morning of June 20th, 2011 with children at his side. George was born October 6, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Orsen and Dorothy Fae Duncan.
George attended Brigham Young University where he earned a Masters Degree with honors in Chemical Engineering graduating as President of his class. George was a man of many talents and hobbies. He enjoyed playing guitar, singing, prospecting, archery, treasure hunting, camping, auto restoration, and fishing. He enjoyed adventures, exploring, and spending time with his children. He married Matilda (Matty) Tafoya on August 18th, 1974; together they had three children and later divorced.
George is survived by his three children: Dorothy (Brandon) Evans, George Orsen Duncan, and Chris (Tiffany) Duncan; three step children Nicki Hatch, Steven Hatch, and Tom Hatch; five grandchildren Christian, Ashton, Bryceton, Colten, and Easton, also many step grandchildren Jared Hatch, Jarome Hatch, Gavin Warner, Drake Warner, Torsten Hatch, Ryder Hatch, Lanie Hatch, Mason Hatch and Brandon Jr. Evans; his sister Janice (Bruce) Kegel and brother Danny Duncan.
Viewing service will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary located at 211 East 200 South in Springville, Utah followed by graveside service at Orem Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East Orem, Utah.
