Gary Newman Perkins, age 77 of Springville, UT, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014 peacefully with family members around in Price, UT.
He was born April 19, 1936 to Newman and Alice Taylor Perkins in Pioche, Nevada. He married the love of his life, Carol Pulsipher on July 10, 1956 in Mapleton, UT. They were sealed for time and eternity in the Manti Temple on June 13, 1970.
He served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years, then hired on with Springville City where he work for 33 years. Gary loved hunting, fishing, camping and all outdoor activities with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Carol of Springville; 2 brothers, Daryl Perkins of Provo and Ned Perkins of Springville; 5 children, Geraldine (Lorvin) Cottam of Price, Patti (Charles) Betts of Spanish Fork, Pauline (Ron) Bell of Spanish Fork, David (Kay) Perkins of Spanish Fork, and Robert (Jenny) Perkins of Spanish Fork. He had 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, and 1 brother.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 1 p.m. in the LDS Chapel at 355 E. Center in Springville. There will be a viewing held at the church from 11:30 to 12:30 prior to the services. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
