Garry Lee Daywitt of Spanish Fork Utah passed away on the 6th of June, 2012 at the age of 65, from injuries sustained in a fall. Born August 21st, 1946 in Cedar Rapids Iowa to Melvin and Kathryn Daywitt. The oldest of four children; Dean, Ron, and Carol Jean. He grew up in Cedar Rapids, and after graduating High School worked for Iowa Manufacturing.
In 1982 He moved to Utah. He married Christine Durrant May 18th, 1991 in Las Vegas Nevada. Combined family includes three daughters and one son. Kim (Jeff) Mosiman, Shelley Osmundson (both of Ames Iowa), Angie Durrant and Matt Durrant (Gaby) of Provo, Utah. Ten grandchildren; Zachary, Matthew, Tyler, Samuel, Kessley, Brody, Netheaus, Tristan, Levi, Jaxson, and one great grandson Colby.
Garry prided himself in being a true professional in his life, his work and his community. He was a very caring and compassionate person, and always tried to put the needs of others before his own. A very descriptive, humorous, and clever man; he was able to command anyone's attention and was a natural born leader. His field of knowledge, in so many subjects was astounding; he had a most exquisite and beautiful mind. Garry influenced so many people, and was the kind of friend, neighbor, and co-worker you could always rely on to lend a hand; to teach how to do any task when asked. He had a true appreciation for the outdoors and all the beauties of nature.
He loved to watch sunrises and rainstorms and to make the most of each day. He always said "every day is a good day, because he got the chance to wake up each morning to experience one more day".
He is survived by his wife Christine, his children, and grandchildren, sister Carol Jean (Jon) Eggert of Iowa, brother Dean (Jackie) of Arizona, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and one brother Ron.
It is impossible to convey how much he means to me, and I cherish all the love and knowledge he has shared with me for the past 29 years. Every day I am grateful for the time that we had and for showing me the way.
Many many thanks to family, friends, neighbors, doctors and staff at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center; for all the care, love and support that has been given.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 5 p.m. in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel, 211 E 200 S, Springville, UT.
