Frank Nieve Twoponies, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2009, in Provo, Utah, surrounded by his loved ones and friends. Frank was born November 27, 1939, in South Dakota. He was proud of his American Indian heritage as a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe, and was a decorated veteran of the United States Army. Frank came from a military family and signed up for service at the age of 23. Frank served three tours of duty in the Vietnam War.
Frank made friends wherever he went, often calling them his sons or daughters and little brothers or sisters. Frank found the greatest love of his life six years ago, when he met his fiance, Inge Wing. Frank was always quick to praise Inge for her friendship with strangers and for the way she always took care of him and her family. Frank loved Inge's children as if they were his own, and they were always a bright spot in his life. Frank loved to trade and was a skilled craftsman. His American Indian leather work was especially beautiful. Frank will always be remembered for his love for others and his honesty and generosity.
A memorial service will be held Friday, April 10, 2009 from 11:00 to 1:00 at the LDS Chapel at 860 East 200 North in Springville, followed by a luncheon for family and friends.
