1926 - 2013
Franklin Irving Goodell of Springville, Utah, was reunited with his sweetheart, Lois when he died peacefully in his home on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, surrounded by many family members.
He was born April 7, 1926 in Westminster, Colorado, to Charles and Anna Goodell the fourth of six children. At the age of 17 he joined the Navy, serving in WW II as a gunner on a torpedo bomber. After WW II, he joined the Air Force and married Cara Le Campbell and later divorced. He was stationed all over the world where his eight children were born.
In 1980 Frank married Lois Storch. In 1985, Frank served a mission for the LDS Church with his wife Lois, in Kirtland, Ohio. They were tour guides for the Newell K. Whitney store.
Frank was a devoted genealogist. He spent many, many hours researching family history. This research has resulted in several family history books written by him and shared with his family.
Frank had a life filled with service to his country, church and family. He was a humble example to all of us and brought much joy to our families. He loved studying the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. Most Monday nights you could find him at the homes of his children sharing Family Home Evenings with them. He was a great dad and an awesome grandpa. He made us laugh and got us to sing. He encouraged us to always do better. He prayed for us and loved us. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his brothers: Robert (Virgie) Goodell and Howard (Jan) Goodell and his children: Gary (Mary) Goodell, Stephen (Theresa) Goodell, Frank Goodell, Jr., John Goodell, Charles (Roni) Goodell and Rebecca (Gene) Larson. He has 47 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; daughter, Boni; son, Robert and granddaughter, Tina.
