Francis Hilthon Chapman passed away December 31, 2007 at his home in Springville with his family. He was born in Goshen, Utah on August 18, 1922 the third child of Hilthon Andrew and Violet Hansen Chapman. He went to school in Goshen and Payson, Utah.
Francis was a veteran of the second world war. He served in the 84th Infantry division and fought in the battle of the bulge. He was proud to serve his country.
He married Thelma Wilson May13, 1943. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Temple. They served a mission together in the Wisconsin, Milwaukee mission and were stake missionaries for four years. He was a high priest group leader and a faithful home teacher.
Francis worked for Pacific States Pipe Plant for 39 years.
He was a cherished and much loved father and grandfather of five children, nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
He is survived by his wife, three children; Danna Lee Gray, Leland Chapman, and Cathy Allman; a brother, Alvin Chapman and sister, Shirley Rooke. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Leeland Chapman; a sister, Juanita Hansen Fern; one son, Kelly Chapman; and one daughter, Annette Carlson.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 4, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the LDS Chapel at 840 South 400 East in Springville. There will be a viewing Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville and at the church on Friday one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Payson City Cemetery.
