When Arthur and Myrtle Steele Rowley welcomed their youngest child, Faye , into their family August 5, 1920 they lived in Silver City, Utah. Faye joined her older siblings Archie, Arthur, Grant, Ruby, Louisa, Robert and Garnet. They were later joined by June McNulty who was raised as an "adopted" son.

Later she began as a waitress in what turned out to be a 20 year employment at the Sage Restaurant. She eventually became the cook at the Sage - mastering her cooking skills, which she used to the benefit of her family and friends.

In 1969 she married Jay Shepherd. During their years together they were able to do a great deal of traveling which she loved. Jay died in 1982. Faye began spending time with the Senior Citizen's traveling, learning to paint, and mastering the art of ceramics. Her many pieces are a joy to her family members. Faye enjoyed attending plays with a special friend Avonna Wright. Together they enjoyed many seasons of plays at the Capitol Theater and Kingsbury Hall.
