1923 ~ 2014
Our loving Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt & friend slipped peacefully away at home July 2, 2014 for a long awaited reunion with her eternal companion Leray & family. She had been blessed to live in her home for 19 yrs. with her Son Keith & Daughter-in-law Denise after them buying her home.
She was born Jan. 23, 1923 in Nevada, TX the 2nd child of Ernest Fred & Delphia Elizabeth Wilson Simmons. They later moved to Spanish Fork, UT When she was 5 yrs. old the family moved to Spanish Fork Canyon (Rio) where her father was a railroad section foreman for the Denver& Rio Grande Western railroad. She attended schools in Thistle & Spanish Fork, while in high school she started dating the handsome Max Leray Dallin, after graduation the family moved to Provo. With WWII going Leray was soon drafted and before he left they eloped & married in Evanston, Wyo. He was with the Army Signal Corp. and had been over there a little over 2 yrs. when Faye joined the Navy, went for basic training to Hunter College, NY and then on to the Naval Air Base in TX to serve as a "Navy Wave" for the last yr. of the war working in food supply shipment. She was 1 of 2000 Waves stationed there at the time. Dec. 1945 they both arrived back home in Springville just a few days apart.
Their marriage was later solemnized in the S.L. Temple, and they were blessed with 3 children.
She loved our Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ and her family & friends were the center of her life, she enjoyed serving in various capacities in the church but found great joy & comfort when she became an ordinance worker at the Provo Temple after Leray passed away, serving 23 yrs.
She is survived by her children, Nancy (Dennis) Baker of Henderson, NV, Keith (Denise) Dallin of Springville; a sister, Glenna Simmons Christensen Alsop (Dean, deceased); 9 grandchildren & 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Judy (Wayne) McDonald, grandson Korey Dallin, parents, sisters Mary Elizabeth, Sherry (Al) Arnsdorf & brother John Wiley.
The family would like to thank Lois, Tracy Dallin and CNS Hospice.
