Ethel Dangerfield Lucas passed away August 3, 2008 at her home from a long illness that she fought valiantly to the age of 90. Born August 31, 1917 to Robert and Bertha Dangerfield, she was raised and educated in Springville. She married Diamond W. Lucas and together they had 10 children.
Ethel was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and for many years she served in the 10th Ward nursery and loved every minute of it. She was a foster grandparent for Nebo School District at Grant Elementary School in Springville. Always looking forward to helping with the children, she loved it, and they loved her. Many times she would find an apple or a card left on her back porch addressed to "Grandma Teacher" (I love you).
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, half-sisters, her husband, and three children. She is survived by her children: Robert (Colleen) Lucas of Beaver, UT; Peggy (Tad) Greenhalgh of California; David Lucas of Springville, UT; Diane (Tim) Larsen of Orem, UT; Pat Elmore of Springville, UT; Carol Mitchell of Pleasant Grove, UT; Nancy Vickrey of Springville, UT; 18 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Our family would like to express heartfelt love to Hearts for Hospice for the loving care given to our dear mother.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 7, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. There will be a viewing held at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S., in Springville from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the graveside services.
