Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Emma M. Teerlink Lee age 96, passed away peacefully at her home in Springville on March 22, 2008 surrounded by her loving family. Emma was born August 18, 1911 in Rotterdam, Holland to John A. and Gertrude Brouwer Teerlink, the sixth of eight children. She and her family immigrated to the United States when she was one year old. They settled in Salt Lake City where she grew up and attended high school and continued her education at Steven Henegers Business School. She spent many years working at Kresses in Salt Lake City and later worked at Christensen's Department Store in Springville.
Emma was a life long, faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. She served as Ward and Stake Attendance Secretary, Relief Society Counselor and President and as an ordinance worker in the Provo Temple. She was a visiting teacher for 45 years and gave many hours of service to the handicapped in her ward.
Emma is survived by one daughter and four sons, Donna Lee Jex of Salem, D. Garry Lee (Jane) of Pinesdale, Montana, Leon E. Lee (Barbara), Dale G. Lee (Mary Lynn) and Kenneth J. Lee (Kathie) all of Springville, 35 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and three sisters, Nicholas, Leo, Joseph, Nephi, Marie, Gertie and Esther.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday March 27, at the Hobble Creek 1st Ward, 555 South 600 East Springville, Utah. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville, and also Thursday, one hour prior to the services at the ward chapel. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Springville, Utah.
