Adele Olsen Lambert, most recently from Springville, Utah passed away peacefully at home Thursday, March 12, 2015 after being active, healthy and happy for 91 years.
Adele was born to David and Maud Olsen in Manti, Utah on July 4, 1923 as the Fourth of July band passed their house. She had two younger brothers, Richard Olsen (Marie) and Donald Olsen (Liisa) and a large extended family.
Adele was blessed with a love and talent for music. A highlight of her life was studying piano in New York City in 1946. She became an accomplished musician, serving over 50 years as a church organist, also organizing a women’s singing group and accompanying hundreds of musical performances.
After working for the Utah Department of Education in Salt Lake City, Utah she met and married Royal Lambert in the Manti Temple. His income tax business took Royal and Adele’s family to Riverside, California in 1965, where they lived for over 40 years.
Adele and Royal’s five children were the center of her life. She was an angel mother who taught by strong example how to live the Gospel, work hard, serve, love others and always do your best.
Adele loved gardening and keeping a beautiful yard. She grew a variety of fruits and vegetables and an even larger variety of flowers. She was known for her beautiful 30+ rose bushes.
Adele was also a talented seamstress. Her hands were never idle. She created numerous quilts and hundreds of crocheted and cross-stitched projects. Countless people attribute their sewing ability to Adele’s teaching.
Adele was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a strong influence for good through her many church callings including Primary, MIA, music and many years in Relief Society. She served for 25 years as Home Craft Coordinator at Deseret Industries.
Adele moved to Utah in 2005. She is preceded in death by her husband Royal and daughter Becky Patterson. She is survived by her children Royele (Chuck) Monk, Ann Marie Lambert, Michele (Dennis) Hooper, and Royal (Melissa) Lambert, as well as 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2015, 11:00 a.m., LDS Chapel, 1965 E Canyon Rd, Springville. Viewings will be held Monday, March 16, 2015, 6-7 p.m., Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S, Springville, with a short viewing at the chapel at 10 a.m. prior to the funeral. Interment will be at the Manti, Utah cemetery the same day.
