Our sweet little angel is watching over us in heaven. Elyse Ariel Stuart Duerden passed away on Sunday, April 3 after fulfilling a valiant mission on earth. Elyse was born on May 7, 1984 in American Fork, the first daughter of Kevin and Elizabeth. She is her Daddy's Little Girl. She grew up in Springville and Mapleton, attending Westside and Mapleton Elementary Schools and Springville Middle, Junior High, and High Schools. She was a beautiful, vibrant girl who loved to sing and dance. Elyse is a successful young lady. She is a CNA and is A+ certified. She married Garrett on September 28, 2002. Together they were blessed with two beautiful children.
Elyse was preceded in death by her grandfathers John Holm and Lloyd Stuart, mother-in-law Katherine J. Duerden, an aunt, and several uncles. She leaves behind her husband Garrett Scott Duerden, children Garrison Tate and Aaliyah Jade, parents Kevin L. and Elizabeth Holm Stuart, brothers Kevin (Ann) and Nathaniel (Shauna), sisters Katrina, Karissa and Kimberlee, grandmothers Lily Stuart and Raeola Holm, father-in-law Gregory C. Duerden, grandmother-in-law Claudia (Harm) Steed, brother-in-law Mackenzie Duerden, sisters-in-law Doris Edwards, Holly Filas, Chelle Lambert, and Rachel Smith, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other family members and friends.
A viewing will be held on Friday, April 8 at 6-8pm at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S. in Springville. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the LDS Chapel located at 2557 Dalton Drive in Springville with a viewing starting at 1 p.m.
Elyse is a special spirit who touched everyone she met. Her smile is contagious. She is loved very much and will be missed.
