Elizabeth "Beth" Parkin Christiansen, age 92 of Springville, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2012. She was born June 30, 1920 in Nephi, Utah to George Herbert and Lucy Isabelle Fowkes Parkin. She married Don D. Christiansen on July 2, 1940 in Farmington, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple July 2, 1951.
Beth was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family. She loved having the family together for holidays and family get togethers. Beth spent a lot of time with her grandchildren.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as a Relief Society secretary, in various callings of the Primary for over 35 years and a Visiting Teacher all her life.
Beth worked as a bookkeeper at Art City Pharmacy for over 30 years. She enjoyed quilting with her sisters and created many beautiful quilts throughout her years.
She is survived by her daughter, MaryLu Leftwich (John); son, Neil Christiansen (Marilyn); 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; son, Marvin; and great-granddaughter, McKell Dalton.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 7, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S., Springville. There will be a viewing held at the mortuary on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
