Elden Ray Lowe, surrounded by his loving family, passed from this world on Wednesday, January 15, at 6:43 p.m. Ray was born on December 9, 1932 to caring and devoted parents, Sarah Spafford Lowe and William Elden Lowe, and died at 81 years old in that same bedroom he was born in. Ray had a rough life as a childa"his mother passed away when he was five years old. His sister, Alma, stepped in at fifteen years old to be a mother to him and to his other sister, Louise.

In his younger years, he attained a pilot's license, and loved to fly. He was fascinated with astronomy and looked to the stars often. He graduated from Springville High School and, soon after, joined the Naval Airforce. He flew and was part of the flight crew. He served on Shore Patrol the last year of his service time. After serving four years, he met Geraldean (Jerrie) Jones. A few short months later, they were married, and moved into his father's home. His father was ill and needed someone to take care of him. All four years that he was in the service, Ray had sent money home for his father while serving in the Naval Airforce. When Ray got out, he went to work at Geneva Steel Plant for 30 years. The two times he was laid off, he worked at Tooele Army Depot as a security officer. After working thirteen years at the steel mill, he received an apprenticeship. He worked hard, got straight A's, and received his Master Electrician Certificate. He at one time had his own TV repair shop.

Ray and Jerrie had four childrena"Sarah Louise Lowe Dees (Eric Val Dees), Alice LaRae Lowe French, (George Daniel French), Earl Ray Lowe (Tammra Kay Turner Lowe), and Elden Richard Lowe (deceased) (Lori Kay Johnson Lowe Duncan). He had a passion for genealogy research and, now, leaves behind his own legacy of 36 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He has by now joyfully reunited with his son and the family that had gone on before him. Preceded in death by his parents, William Elden Lowe and Sarah Spafford; his sister, Alma Lowe Willson; and his son, Elden Richard Lowe. He is survived by his wife, sister, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

His family will always remember his kindness and generosity and willingness to help anyone. He loved his family very much, as they love him.
