Elayne Muhlestein Eastman 82 of Mapleton, UT passed away from heart problems on Sunday the 31st of July. Elayne was born Jan. 7, 1929, in Provo, UT to Joseph B Muhlestein and Juanita Russell. She was the second of seven children.
She graduated from Lincoln High School in Provo, UT in 1947. She married Harman Levi Eastman in 1951. They enjoyed 60 wonderful years of marriage together. They lived most of their life in Utah County. They spent a few years of retirement in Mesquite, NV. They currently live in Mapleton, UT. She was an active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She devoted her life to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and her family. She served in many church organizations including Relief Society, Sunday School, and Primary. She particularly enjoyed children in her life. Her favorite callings were teaching Primary and Sunday School. In her later years she was a devoted temple patron. She was able to attend weekly during the last ten years of her life.
She was blessed with 5 children, 19 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. Elayne will be remembered as a very caring and selfless person. She was always concerned about others above herself. Her happy and positive attitude was contagious to be around. This attitude influenced all she came in contact with.
Funeral services will be held Saturday August 6, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Mapleton, UT 22nd Ward Chapel, 1068 S 1600 W (HWY 89). Viewings will be held Friday, August 5 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Wheeler Mortuary 82 W 400 N Mapleton, UT or Saturday one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
