1928 Elaine 2015

Elaine Anderson Clements

February 8, 1928 — July 31, 2015

Our irreplaceable presence of goodness and unconditional love has graciously accepted a much deserved promotion.  Words cannot express how much we will miss her perfect example of Christlike love and unwavering faith, the abundant warm memories she left us with will sustain and comfort.

Elaine Anderson Clements was born February 8, 1928.  She was the only daughter of Ellen Elizabeth Whitmore and Thomas LaVar Anderson. While small in stature, her spirit was larger than life.  She was strong to the very end and enjoyed all the beauty this life has to offer.  She passed away on Friday July 31, 2015, surrounded by a large family that completely adored her.

While attending Springville High School she was fittingly given the nickname of “Gabby” Anderson and was the life of every party. She was a cheerleader and graduated as a proud Red Devil with the Class of 1946. She was a lifetime SHS Booster Club member.

Mom worked for Dr. Richard K. Miner for over thirty years.  She enjoyed a close circle of incredible friends who provided love, companionship and support for her throughout her life.

She married Art Harold Child in 1949. They were later divorced. She married her eternal companion, Reed Clements, in 1988 and he spoiled her for 26 wonderful years.   Immediately following retirement, Elder and Sister Clements served three missions: Macon Georgia Mission, St. George Family History Mission, and Mesa Arizona Temple Visitor Center Mission.   She left all those lives she touched forever changed.

There was never a time that she didn’t look forward to the Sabbath and immersing herself in whatever calling she was assigned, particularly Relief Society President and Young Women’s.

She dearly loved her children and stepchildren:  Pam (Sandy) Child, Tony (Tatiana) Child, Cheryl Wilson, Stacey (Mark) Weeks, Kelly (Jeanie) Clements, Kim (Frank) Gonzales, and Jana (Tom) Carter.  She leaves behind 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren who cherished every moment with her.  She is survived by her loving husband and two very doting brothers, Floyd (Alice) Anderson and Don (DeAnna) Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Tom Anderson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 8th at 11:00 a.m. at the Spring Creek Stake Center, 760 North 400 East, Springville, Utah.  Family and friends may visit Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary in Springville, 211 East 200 South or Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Church prior to the services.  Interment will be at the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
