Elaine (Ewell) Murray Bailey, 69, of Bozeman, Montana, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015, in the loving arms of her son, Aaron.
Elaine was born April 14, 1946 in Provo, Utah, to Hosmer and Alice (Egbert) Ewell. She graduated from Provo High School and then attended nursing school to become an LPN. For a number of years, she owned Geneva Sand, a successful business in Provo.
After her second husband passed away, Elaine moved to Bozeman to be closer to Aaron. He was honored to care for her these past five years.
She enjoyed cooking, crochet, painting, and the holidays. She loved animals, especially her dogs, and loved going to church. Time with family was spent outdoors, skiing, hunting, and fishing, as well as boating, even though she was afraid of water.
Elaine will be remembered as a sweet woman who loved everyone, and everyone loved her. She was nonjudgmental and was compassionate toward all she met. She was an extraordinary mother, who provided opportunities to her son for growth and learning, including ski lessons and a horse named Charlie. She supported her family and encouraged them in their successes.
Elaine was preceded in death by her son, Greg Murray, and one brother.
Survivors include her son, Aaron Murray; step-daughter, Tiffany Bailey; step-sons, James Bailey and Doug Bailey, Jr.; four step-grandchildren; four brothers; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 29, from 10:45 A.M. to 11:45 A.M. at Wheeler Mortuary in Springville, Utah, with graveside services to follow at 12:00 P.M. at Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Elaine’s name to Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter, PO Box 11390, Bozeman, MT 59719.
