Edward (Ted) Jorgen Oxborrow, 72, resident of Payson, Utah, returned back to his Heavenly home on January 17, 2023 after complications of pneumonia and old age. Edward was born in Reno, Nevada on December 19, 1950 to parents Murray and Elizabeth Oxborrow. He was the “big brother” to his sisters Lanai and Jill.
Edward, otherwise known as Ed, Ted, or Teddy-Bear, was the definition of pure love and joy; who always saw the playfulness to life. Though cognitively handicapped, Ted didn’t let that slow him down and throughout his life he was able to travel and loved to be in the mountains with family and friends, especially fishing. If Ted could be anywhere, it would be out fishing. He enjoyed taking bus rides, walking around the towns he lived in, and always had time for a joke. You could say he was the fourth member of the “Three Stooges.” He loved to meet new friends wherever he went, and brought light and laughter to all who met him; pulling pranks and jokes to make everyone laugh around him.
Ted had various part-time jobs, including landscaping, working at a truss plant, and his most-loved as a janitorial helper, especially at Midway Elementary when he lived with Doug and Jill in Heber City, Utah.
Edward was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and had a firm testimony of his Father in Heaven and his Savior; knowing he would live with them again someday. Ted loved attending church each week, and looked forward to always going to see his friends and participate in any of the church activities.
Edward was so loved by all who met him, his co-workers, ward friends, friends he passed by on the street – you name it. All who knew Ted loved him. Thank you to everyone who was so kind and loving to Ted; who were a friend and helped care for him in so many ways.
Edward is survived by his sister Jill (Oxborrow) Coats and Doug Coats of Spanish Fork, Utah and their three children Teri Coats, Alex (Coats) Harris, and McCabe Coats. Along with his “adopted grandma” Dona Coats of Mapleton, Utah. Thank you to the caregivers at Parkway Health in Payson, Utah, where Ted lived for the last 5 years; thank you for loving Ed and taking such great care of him.
The family will hold a private Celebration of Life for Edward, with final interment with his mother and father in Reno, NV.
