Edna Earl Craddock Poteet McCombs

Edna Earl Craddock Poteet McCombs was born December 18, 1920 in Gatesville, Texas to Elbert Craddock and Josie Painter. She died October 13, 2007 having lived in Springville for the last seven years of her life in the home of her daughter Donna M. Spencer (Herbert B.)



She grew up in the oil fields of West Texas and married Henry David Poteet. Their daughter, Donna was seven years old when he died, probably of malignant melanoma, and the survivors moved to the Los Angeles area where Edna worked for California Date Growers and FritoLay where she supervised in production control. She married William P. McCombs and on his retiring they moved to Springville, Utah and subsequently to St. George where he died at which time she moved to Springville and Donna and Herbert's home.



Donna is an only child but Edna is also survived by four grandchildren: Terrie Lee Burgess, Randy Floyd, Nancy Ann Perez and Wm Donnie Maxwell and a numerous posterity of great and great great grandchildren and one great great great-grandchild.



Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville, Utah. Burial will be in the Tonaquint cemetery in St. George, Utah under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary.
