Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Dr. Norman Lee Parker, age 90, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2013, in Payson, Utah. He was born April 5, 1922, in Riverdale, Utah, the son of Earl L. and Matilda Wagner Parker. He married his college sweetheart, Beth Zabriskie in 1947. They were sealed in the Provo LDS Temple.

Norman was a high priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served as a member of the bishopric in Springville, as well as various other positions throughout his life.

He served in the US Army during WWII, spending five years in the South Pacific Islands. He attended Brigham Young University and the University of Utah where he earned a Medical Doctorate degree. He was a self-described, "small town doctor" in Springville, Utah, where he had a busy family practice including surgery and obstetrics.

Norman is survived by his wife, Beth; children, Joan (Larry Rawle), Susan Childs, Gayle (Doug Bradford), Louise Parker, Dale E. (Martina Cope), Kimber Lee (Dallen Atack), and Mary Ann (Stuart Nelson); 30 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by grandsons, Jason Childs and Joshua Childs, three brothers, Hugh Parker, Hobson Parker, and Dale D. Parker, and a sister, Lucille John.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Springville Center Street Chapel, 355 E. Center, Springville, UT. Friends may also call at a viewing on Wednesday evening, February 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S. in Springville. There will not be a viewing prior to the services on Thursday. Interment will be at the Provo City Cemetery, with military honors.
