"Ratchet"
Douglas Reed McKell was born in Spanish Fork, Utah on November 8, 1950 to loving parents Clifford Reed McKell and Janice Neil McKell.
Doug graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1969 as a sterling scholar. He participated in R.O.T.C. while attending B.Y.U. He majored in chemical and mechanical engineering.
Doug was employed at Geneva Steel where he met the love of his life, Kathleen C. Lindsay who was also working at Geneva. They were married two months later on January 18, 1980. Doug retired from Geneva Steel in 1984 and then worked for various construction contractors as a millwright until his health began to fail in 2008. His worn and frail body gave out on the 13

of December 2014 at the age of 64.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family and was an avid reader with over 1000 books in his collection.
He is survived by his loving wife Kathleen and two step-sons that he loved dearly: Bradley James Pace and L. Colton Hunter Hight; sister, Kathy (Jerry) Thomas; brother and best friend, Michael McKell; and three grandchildren: Colton Paul Hight, MacKya Ray Pace, and Harley Meranda Pace.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Reed & Janice McKell; and father & mother-in-law, Paul & Violet Lindsay.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 19, 2014 at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S., Springville. There will be a visitation held at the mortuary one hour prior to the services. Private family interment.
