Dorothy Perrero, age 83 of Mapleton, passed away Monday, August 17, 2009. She was born June 29, 1926 in Libby, Montana to Roy S. and Mary Sodje Ruden. She married Marty Perrero on June 29, 1946 in Helper, Utah.
Dottie was a dedicated grandmother, and avid fisherwoman and hunter. She loved crossword puzzles and taught her grandchildren how to work them. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren.
Dottie and Marty owned and operated Dot & Marty's and Art City Lanes. She was passionate about bowling. Dottie was a charter member of the first sanctioned W.B.A. league in Springville and was in the bowler's hall of fame. She held state offices in the Women's International Bowling Congress. Dottie was a true leader and inspiration to her peers.
Dottie's strength, love and dedication to care for others is her legacy. Her own wants and desires always came last. Her family will miss the sparkle in her eye, her love, and her sheer stamina. We only hope to possess some of these qualities.
She is survived by two brothers: Samuel Ruden and Roy Ruden; her children: Jon Martin (Glenys Paxton) Perrero and Johanna Maire (David T.) Purvance; 11 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S. in Springville. There will be a viewing held at the mortuary one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
