Dorothy Hansen Ivie, 92, who was born, raised, and lived in Springville all her life, passed away March 8, 2024. She was born June 19, 1931, in Springville to Orsen and Eva A. Hansen.
Dorothy was married to Dean L. Ivie on March 4, 1949. She was a homemaker, a loving grandmother and she worked many years for the Nebo School district. She belonged to the "Daughters of Utah Pioneers”, and she was very proud of her pioneer heritage. She honored her pioneer heritage by working diligently on her family's genealogy and volunteering at the Springville DUP museum. Dorothy was a long-time member of the Springville Musettes singing group, and she was a faithful member of the LDS church.
Dorothy is survived by her four children: Craig, Reece, Carolyn, and Brent. She is also survived by one sister, Colleen Hansen Shrader, and three brothers, Richard Lamar Hansen, W. Boyd Hansen, and John L. Hansen. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Dean Ivie, her son Kent Hansen Ivie, her grandson Josh Ivie, and brother Duane Hansen.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 11:00 am in Springville Stake Center, located at 245 S. 600 E. Springville, UT. A viewing for friends and family will be held Friday evening from 6 - 8 pm at Wheeler Mortuary located at 211 E. 200 S in Springville. On Saturday, a viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 am prior to the funeral services, at the Springville Stake Center. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
