Dorothy Ebenstein Collings of Springville, Utah passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 10th, 2014. She was born in Salt Lake City to Barbara Strong Ebenstein and Charles Sylvester Ebenstein on Oct 29, 1928 at Holy Cross Hospital. She was raised in Orem Utah where she graduated from High School. She earned an Associate Degree from Westminster College where she met Otto "Buck" Burke Collings of Monroe Utah, a WWII Navy veteran. They were married Sept 1, 1948 and settled in Springville making it the home of their family for 63 years. She valued and cherished the friendships made in her community.

Dorothy was a supporter and volunteer at the Springville Museum of Art. She influenced her children to appreciate and practice the arts. She was a member of Areole Club, a part of Federated Clubs in Springville She assisted in the annual fund drives to support The March of Dimes, American Lung Association and The American Heart Association.

She was a member of the Springville Community Presbyterian Church for 63 years making it a church home for her family. For many years she was the regular pianist and organist at the church playing for Sunday services. She will be remembered for her involvement in every area of church life which included a wonderful Rummage Sale and Bazaar organized by the Presbyterian Women. She was famous for bringing hot homemade doughnuts to the sale. She participated in and led Brownie Scouts, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and many other church sponsored groups.

Employed at Sears in Provo from the early 1970's until her retirement, Dorothy may have helped you in the Automotive, Tool, or Ladies Departments. She loved selling tools. She supported her family in their participation with Masonic organizations under the auspices of Damascus Lodge, Provo. She was an avid reader of the newspaper and supported the Springville Library. Dorothy kept a journal everyday for nearly 40 years only stopping a year ago. She loved travel with her husband to his Navy reunions and state judge meetings.

Dorothy will be dearly missed by her family and many who loved her. May we find consolation in the tapestry of her abundant, rich life.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Otto "Buck" Collings and her son Robert Andreas Collings. She's survived by her sister Peggy Ebenstein Jameson (Bill ) of Porterville CA, four children Dusty Collings (Marcus) Lang of Bainbridge Is. WA, Chuck (Sandy) Collings of Beaver, Utah, Matt (Julie) Collings, Phil Collings (Carol Partridge) and a daughter- in-law Patricia Mason Collings also of Springville; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren who adored their Grandma.

Viewing Friday, July 18, 2014, from 6 to 8 pm at the Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S., Springville, Utah. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing prior to the service from 10:00-10:45 AM in the Springville Presbyterian at 251 South 200 East in Springville. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery
