Rowene was born June 20, 1929 at home in Spanish Fork, Utah to Harvey Earl and Donna Jane Thomas Huff. She passed away peacefully February 12, 2015, surrounded by her family.
She married the love of her life, Robert Grant Bird on March 18, 1948. They were later sealed in the Manti Temple as an eternal family on April 18, 1964.
Mom was always a great cheerleader to all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always made it a point to support us in our activities. Mom was a wonderful cook, beautiful seamstress (sewing all of us girl's clothes). Quilting and crocheting were just some of her amazing talents.
Mom worked at Nebo School district for 30 years as the lunchroom manager. She held many position in the LDS Church, serving as Primary President, Primary teacher and Visiting Teacher. She was actively involved in the PTA throughout our childhood.
Mom you watched us take our first breath and we watched you take your last. Now your eternal journey begins and your legacy will live on in each and every one of us.
Mom is survived by her children: Randall Grant (Kathy) Bird and Denise (Keith) Dallin of Springville; Jayne Ann (Stephen) Bills and Linda (Trent) Hoover of Mapleton; Pat (Ray) Crane of Springville; sisters: Carol (Robert) Llewellyn, Sharon (Edward) Swenson, Janae (Reo) Carson and sister-in-law, Louise Bird; 15 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Robert (Dec. 29, 2013); her parents; grandson, Korey Morris Dallin; great grandsons: Holden and Reve Dyke; brothers-in-law: Guy and Jack Bird; sister-in-law, Colleen Bird and two nieces: Debbie and Janae.
The family would like to express great thanks to Provo Dialysis/Dr. Eppich; CNS Hospice nurse, Lois Sutherland and CNA, Sarah Sutherland; Tracy Dallin, Larry and Myrna Robertson and many family members, neighbors and friends for all their kindness and loving care.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 12 Noon in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery, 1997 S 400 E, Springville, under the direction of Wheeler Mortuary. Friends and family are welcome to attend.
