Don Owen Simons, 83, passed away September 16, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Don was born September 4, 1932 to Alden and Fontella White Simons, in Mt. Pleasant, UT. When Don turned 18 he joined the U.S. Army, served for 2 years and fought in the Korean War. Upon his return in 1952 he found and married his bride, Rosalie Marie Keisel. They were later sealed in the Manti LDS Temple. Don and Rosalie had 8 children and together, hand in hand, they worked for over 60 years raising their children and grandchildren. For Don 36 of those years were at Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Company.
Don enjoyed spending time with his family camping, fishing and hunting. He lived a life dedicated to his family, faith and his country.
He is survived by his wife, Rosalie of 63 years; his children: Don A, Larry (Ronie), Mike, Debbie, Doug and Brent (Angie); 30 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren; siblings: Jay, Que (Pauline), Ada (Neil) Lake, Boyce (DeAnn), Gale Strong, Brenda Simons and Shanna Wakefield. He was preceded in death by his beloved sons: Paul and Steven; his parents, Alden and Fontella; sisters: LaRue, Betty, Debbie and Merna; brother, Devere; granddaughter, Teri Simons and great granddaughter, Avery Baker.
Please join Don’s family and friends in remembrance of him and his passion for life and love of family at Funeral Services held on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the LDS Church at 350 N 400 E, Springville, UT. Viewings will be held on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S, Springville and Monday one hour prior the services at the church. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
